Walk on Wednesday (WOW day)
We are encouraging pupils accompanied by their parents to walk to school on Wednesdays starting on Wednesday, January 25th. The route will go from Supervalu car park via the footbridge, crossing by the Courthouse at Zebra crossing and again at the Brogan Inn, up Kilbrogan Hill and finally Convent Hill.
Assembly will take place on the pavement near the main door of Supervalu being ready to leave at 8.30 am. Pupils who participate in this walk accompanied by their parents are asked to wear high visibility vest or armbands. Parental responsibility for one's own child (children) is absolutely essential for the continued safety and success of "WOW" days. (organised by the Parents Association)
We at SPN would appreciate your co-operation in maintaining classroom discipline by leaving your child at the outer door and not accompanying him to the classroom. This helps to make your child more independent. Please wait to collect your child at this point also.
This applies in particular to parents of Junior and Senior Infants.
All visitors must, on entering the school premises, report to the office before proceeding to a classroom or meeting place.
If you are taking your child out of school during the school day you must sign him out in the office.
An appointment should be made if a parent wishes to speak to a teacher. This can be arranged by contacting the office.
Phone calls to teachers of pupils should not be made during class times unless urgent. Messages can be left with our secretary at any time.
Thank you for your co-operation.
