A big THANK YOU to all who supported our very sucessful cake sale recently. For all the tasty baking that was donated and to all of the boys and teachers who bought them. Thanks to the parents association who did all of the work on the day. We will now need to turn our attention to running off those cakes!!!!

Winners of the Bandon Inter schools soccer blitz 2011. The SPN team were undefeated in all of their games in the competition. They won the final after pentalties. The competion was organised by Bandon AFC.

Congratulations !!!!!
Fifth class represented the school in the national final of the Xperience Engineering Competition with their project on 'Flood Alleviation'. Only 20 schools from all over Ireland won the opportunity to compete at the Helix in Dublin on June 9th.
After a trip to Bandon Fire Station the class decided to focus on pumps, which saved Bandon on January 15th 2011. On June 9th five lucky boys represented the school and presented their model of Bandon Town. The Boys flooded the town and then pumped it dry again. Flood defences create a safer and more sustainable future for the people of Bandon.

Science News
Congratulations to Scoil Phádraig Naofa on winning the Award of Science & Maths Excellence 2011. This is the fourth year in a row. To obtain this award each class had to contribute a variety of science and maths activities. From Dancing raisins in junior infants to electrical quizzes in sixth class, the judges were very impressed by the hardwork of teachers and students. Well Done Boys !

3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class visited the lifetime lab where they learned all about Science. We learned all about electricity, magnetism, dissolving and map reading. See our pictures ...

This is a short clip from a project that some of the 3rd class boys were working on. They created the scene of the three little pigs and models from clay. They took 185 photos to create this movie. Well done Boys. Next stop Hollywood!!!

Sam Comes Home!!!!!
All Ireland winning medalist, Corks Colm O' Neill came to the school with representatives of Bandon GAA Club to show off the Sam Maguire Cup. It was a wonderful day with poems, songs and of course a rendition of the Banks!!! For more information click on Cork GAA

Molly called to visit!!!!
On Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th November last we had a wonderful visit from Dogs Trust Ireland. Liadh Fitzgerald and her dog Molly (pictured left) came and gave a wonerful presentation of how we should care for and treat our pets. They called to all classrooms over the two days and really had the boys engaged in the workshop. For more information about the Dogs Trust follow this link
